MISSION, TEXAS (SEPT. 29, 2026) – Mission Consolidated Independent School District has once again earned the state’s highest financial accountability rating, receiving an “A” for Superior Achievement through the School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) program.
The distinction marks the 24th consecutive year Mission CISD has earned the state’s highest financial rating, reflecting more than two decades of consistent fiscal responsibility, transparency and sound financial management.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our Finance Team and the responsible oversight of our Board of Trustees,” Mission CISD Superintendent Dr. Cris King said. “Every dollar entrusted to our district represents an investment in our students. Strong financial stewardship allows us to continue providing the programs, resources and opportunities our students and staff need to succeed.”
A Commitment to Financial Responsibility
School FIRST is the financial accountability system administered by the Texas Education Agency to evaluate how effectively Texas public school districts manage their financial resources. Districts are evaluated using financial indicators designed to measure fiscal management, financial stability and compliance with state requirements.
The Superior Achievement designation represents the highest rating available through the system.
For Mission CISD, earning the top rating for 24 consecutive years demonstrates a long-standing commitment to maintaining strong financial practices while ensuring district resources remain focused on supporting students, classrooms and schools.
