VMHS boys cross country team makes school history

The Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) boys cross country team not only had a very successful season, they also made some school history by advancing farther than any previous Patriot cross country team. 
They are District Champions. They are Regional Champions. They also placed very well at their first state meet, finishing sixth. 
Pictured are members of the team during a recent recognition by the Mission CISD Board of Trustees. 
Team members are: Eric Chavez, J.R. De Ochoa, Fabian Garcia, Martin Garcia, Daniel Lopez, Jesus Mata, Alvaro J. Mendez, Gerardo Reyna. They are led by William Proctor, head coach; and Romeo de la Garza Jr., assistant coach.
