Eleven Veterans Memorial High School band students earned positions in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Band. They are: Noel Barsenas, Caroline Galvez, Benjamin Garcia, Tomas Garcia, Cassandra Gutierrez, Jaime Hernandez, Sarai Muniz, Ixtaccihautl Obregon, Japheth Varlack, Andres Vecchio, Monica Velasquez.
Of these students, the following are advancing to the Pre-Area auditions that will be held on December 2: Noel Barsenas, Tomas Garcia, Andres Vecchio, Monica Velasquez. This competition will decide who advances to the Area level competition and the opportunity to be a member of the All-State Band. Benjamin Garcia has already qualified for the Area level tryouts through the orchestra auditions.
