Mission High School (MHS) art teacher Jason Valdez recently participated in the Upper Valley Art League’s first annual Celebration of Fine Arts. One of his paintings earned third place at this juried art show. To be included in the show, artist’s original works had to first be approved by a panel of three prominent artists from the greater Texas art community. Valdez received $250.
Another art teacher from MHS, Marisol Karam, sold more of her pieces at the show than any other participating artist.
