Middle school students from the Pharr area up to Roma recently participated in auditions for the Texas Music Educators Association Region 15 All-Region auditions. Several students from Mission Jr. High School (MJH) earned positions in an All-Region Band. Making the All-Region Honors Band was: Alexandra Galvez, Lauren Hernandez, and Mia Hernandez. Dariany Ceja earned a position in the All-Region Concert Band. Fabian Gutierrez made the All-Region Symphonic Band.
The audition process is quite lengthy, with some groups having more than 100 students auditioning per section. These students will perform with their All-Region bands Saturday, December 14, at the La Joya Fine Arts Auditorium at 4:00 p.m.
