Veterans Memorial FFA student projects show well at RGV event

                Veterans Memorial FFA students had a successful showing at the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) FFA District Livestock Show, held recently. 

                Four students had projects that earned champion standing. They are: Zenaida Alaniz, champion Santa Gertrudis steer, champion fine wool cross lamb, champion intermediate steer showman; Angel Sanchez, reserve champion Beefmaster heifer; Samantha Diaz, reserve champion light weight goat; Marcus Cordova, champion junior lamb showman.

                Other top place finishers, in the market steer division were: Roy Guerrero, first place; Devin Stiers, third place.

                In the Market hog division: Javier Martinez, third place; J.R. Martinez, fourth place; Johnny Martinez, fifth place; Marco Diaz, seventh place.

                In the market goat division: Cordel Bosler, second place; Bella Alaniz, third place; Marissa Garcia, seventh place; Kendra Garcia, eighth place.

                In the market lamb division: A.J. Barba, fifth place; Marcus Cordova, fourth place.

                In the breeding cattle division: A.J. Barza, second place; Christina Reyna, fourth place.
