Two Mission High School (MHS) mariachi members had the honor recently of performing with the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 15 All-Region Mariachis. They were vocalist, Carolina Gonzalez and flute player, Brandon Flores.
These students were chosen to participate with the Region Mariachi after participating in an audition in November 2013, in which they com0peted against mariachi students from Roma ISD to PSJA ISD. Gonzalez earned first chair and was a featured vocalist from the Region 15 Mariachi Group A. Flores earned a position in the Region 15 Mariachi Group B.
Both groups were led by guest conductors from the San Antonio area.
