VMHS Masterminds team advances in competition

                The Masterminds team from Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) is advancing to the third round of the quiz show competition produced by KRGV-TV. At the second round of competition, the team won against La Sara High School. Next up for the VMHS team at round three will be the team from Brownsville Pace High School. The competition will be held on March 17 at the station studios in Weslaco.

                The Masterminds quiz show consists of two teams of students who face off on a variety of subjects that include: History, Math, English, Current Events, Art, and Music. The competitions take place throughout the school year with teams meeting by a draw system, with no differentiation made as to school size. The TV station donates $100 to each school each time they compete, for library replenishment.

                The round two competition with the VMHS team will air on KRGV-TV on April 20 at 11:00 a.m.
