Quite a few honors were earned by Veterans Memorial FFA Chapter students during the recent Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show.
Livestock projects that earned top honors and/or were sold at the premium auction included: A.J. Barba, Champion Beefmaster heifer futurity show, champion showman heifer futurity show; Zenaida Alaniz, reserve champion fine wool cross lamb (sold at auction); Bella Alaniz, first place light weight goat (sold at auction); Johnny Martinez, second place light weight Yorkshire pig (sold at auction); Christina Reyna, third place heavy weight Duroc pig (sold at auction); Devin Stiers, third place heavy weight AOB steer (sold at auction); Kendra Garcia, pig scramble winner; Johnny Martinez, pig scramble winner; FFA Chapter Award, second place market hog good housekeeping award.
