The iconic Mission High School Eagle statue that has been keeping watch over Tom Landry Stadium since 1990 took flight this afternoon. It was carefully removed and hoisted from its perch. It will now receive much needed repairs and refurbishment. Once completed, it will be placed at its new home on the east side of the Tom Landry Stadium field, near the scoreboard.
It will be joined on that side of the field by a similarly sized Patriot statue to represent Veterans Memorial High School in our main district stadium.
