Mission CISD to hold a Pre-K/Kindergarten Roundup for pre-registration

                All Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) elementary schools are recruiting students for this fall’s Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. A special roundup pre-registration for the 2014-2015 school year will be held on May 15 and 16 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. The kindergarten pre-registration will only be for students who are new to Mission CISD.

                Mission CISD elementary schools offer an open enrollment, half-day Pre-K program with no language or wage requirements. The district has state recognized Pre-K centers of excellence with certified, who meet federal standards for highly qualified designation in each classroom who can draw upon a vast variety of resources to serve their student’s needs. Students receive instruction through the integrated use of technology and a research-based curriculum that prepares them for the challenges of the next grade level.

                On the two roundup days, parents need to bring a valid form of identification, (for the parent), the child’s birth certificate, social security card (if one is not available or parent does not want this number used, a state ID will be assigned), immunization records, and proof of residence within Mission CISD.

                Parents in neighboring areas are welcome to bring their children to a Mission CISD school. The district does require an out-of-district transfer application for any children that reside outside of Mission CISD. The applications for the 2014-2015 school year will be available at the Mission CISD Central Office, 1201 Bryce Drive, Mission, beginning May 1.
