Mission CISD bus driver selected for PCAT honor

Daniel Flores, a Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) school bus driver has been honored by the Property Casualty Alliance of Texas (PCAT) as the 2013-2014 bus driver of the year for Mission CISD. The award is based upon the following attributes: leadership, attitude, perseverance, student and parent relationships, and technical skills. This is Flores’ 20th school year with Mission CISD.

Each year, PCAT welcomes bus driver of the year nominations from all transportation stakeholders. The evaluators look particularly for those exceptional drivers who demonstrate a consistent desire to positively influence both students and co-workers through their actions and attitudes.

“Student transportation in a yellow school bus continues to be the safest mode of transportation to and from school, due in very large part to the skill and dedication of those who drive the school buses. With the PCAT bus driver of the year program we are able to recognize those drivers who have made exemplary efforts to provide for the safety, education, and happiness of school children in PCAT members schools,” said PCAT representative, Aaron Ramsey.
