The Alton Memorial Jr. High School (AMJH) Symphonic Band and Concert Band recently participated in the Region 15 Band UIL Concert and Sight-reading Contest held at the Valley View High School Performing Arts Center. Both bands earned the UIL Sweepstakes Award at this event.
This is a state-wide event in which performing arts groups are evaluated on the following criterion: quality of tone, accuracy of notes and rhythmic technique, tuning, precision, and musicality.
