Unique Ag teaching duo recognized by Vocational Agricultural Science Teachers Association

A duo of agricultural science teachers at Mission High School were recently recognized by the Vocational Agricultural Science Teachers Association of Texas (VATAT).

Rolando Gonzalez was recognized for 30 years of service and for his retirement. Benito Garza was recognized for completing 15 years as an agricultural science teacher.

What makes this recognition duo a little unique is, that Gonzalez was Garza’s agricultural science teacher in the early 1990’s at Mission High School. Professionally, they spent the past seven years serving together at Mission High School as agricultural science teachers and FFA chapter advisors. Together, they have led the Mission FFA Chapter to many District, Area, and State championships. Their students have also advanced to national competitions, finishing in the top ten.
