Individuals who are no longer enrolled in a Texas public school and who have not previously passed all sections of the TAKS state assessments, but have met all other graduation requirements, may retake the section(s) of the test not mastered on certain retesting dates.
Since the TAAS and the TEAMS exams are no longer administered, individuals will have to take the TAKS retest. Former TAAS examinees, including former TEAMS examinees must pass the Mathematics test and/or the appropriate part of the TAKS Exit Level English Language Arts test (writing or reading).
All TAKS retests will be administered online. Mission CISD (Consolidated Independent School District) has three designated retesting sites: Mission High School, Veterans Memorial High School, and Options Academy.
The TAKS Exit Level Retesting Dates are as follows: Monday, October 20, English Language Arts; Tuesday, October 21, Mathematics; Wednesday, October 22, Science; Thursday, October 23, Social Studies.
Individuals taking advantage of these opportunities do not have to be a previously enrolled Mission CISD student. Individuals must report to the test site by 7:45 a.m. on the scheduled test date. Individuals must show a photo ID and provide a social security number. Examinees will not be allowed to test without the photo ID. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed during the testing. Participants must be prepared to turn them in to the test administrator prior to testing. The devices will be returned at the end of testing. Exams will be given only on the designated test schedule. No make-up days are allowed.
Examinees will also be asked what their home high school is and for an address where they would like the test results sent. The testing contractor will record the individual’s results and send them to the original high school. Once the school has received those results and the tester has met all graduation requirements, the campus can provide them with a diploma.
