At the beginning of each school year, the race begins to find students who the district expected to return to school, but did not. Districts have a limited time to account for them all; and to let the students know someone cares about them and their education. Sometimes the students were unaware of special programs designed to help them. A special thank you breakfast was held this morning for the community liaisons and other campus/district staff who worked many hours, and knocked on many doors in the community, trying to locate each potential student leaver with the hopes they could be found and returned to school.
