VMHS Gear Up students check out the Ivy League
A dozen of the Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) GEAR UP students and their parents recently had the opportunity to visit with admissions and financial aid specialists from some Ivy League universities. The Ivy League visit was at Region One Education Service Center and included Princeton University, Dartmouth College, and Stanford University.
Students had the chance to ask questions, and look at some of the educational options offered through these schools.
Some of the items that caught the student’s attention included: the amount of personal advisement for students; the home-like environments that are created by students by clubs and on-campus groups; and opportunities to study abroad.
The students who took advantage of this event included: Eduardo Alejos, Andrea De La Garza, Cassandra Galvez, Eric Gandaria, Kimberly Garza, Darian Ibarra, Isaac Martinez, Bianca Medina, Mirna Rodriguez, Alexandra Salinas, Kellen Shults, Marisa Tijerina.
