Helping fill a need

As a part of his routes as the school year began, Mission CISD bus driver, Adan Salinas noticed a student who tugged at his heart. He decided to see if he could help, by providing a backpack with some school supplies to help the student start the school year. As he spoke with others about what he planned to do, it led to additional help. In the end, Salinas was getting donations from other bus drivers, community members, and the Freemasons Hidalgo Lodge 1036. Their generosity enabled him to present Cavazos Elementary School with 22 backpacks with school supplies. Pictured is Salinas as he helped hand out some of the backpacks.
