While the girls were away

While the girls were away at the big Girl Power Rally, the boys at the junior high schools did their own motivational and educational thing. This took many different forms.

At Mission Jr. High School, the boys viewed the movie McFarland. After watching this uplifting, movie-with-a-message, the boys were led through lessons that included classroom discussions.

At K. White Jr. High School, the boys rotated through sessions that included: computer coding, strategic games, and some social time.

At R. Cantu Jr. High School, they had their own mini power rally with guest speakers that included: VMHS Athletic Coordinator David Gilpin, U.S. Marshalls, Texas Rangers, an engineer, and a UTRGV professor.

Alton Memorial Jr. High School put together a mini leadership conference with sessions designed to provide motivational speakers and some career exploration. Speakers included: Rock-n-Roll James, American Ninja Warrior contestant Abel Gonzalez, U.S. Border Patrol, and the Alton Fire Department. Pictured are some of the Alton students as they participated in the fire department presentation.
