MCISD Dominates at TCEA Robotics Competition

January 24, 2017– Mission CISD again swept the TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) Robotics competition with campuses bringing home nine of the 12 trophies awarded, including all four first place trophies. The competition held January 21 hosted more than 300 teams competing in four categories.

In the Intermediate Arena, Alton Memorial Junior High Silver Robo-Rangers placed 1st for the third year in a row. In the Intermediate Inventions, K. White Junior High Tango Hawk won 1st place, Alton Memorial Junior High Magenta Robo-Rangers won 2nd place, and K. White Junior High Sierra Hawk won 3rd place.

In the Advanced Arena, K. White Junior High Alpha Hawk won 1st place, Alton Memorial Junior High Red Robo-Rangers won 2nd place and Mission High School T-STEM (Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy White Robo-Rangers won 3rd place. In the Advanced Inventions, Mission High School T-STEM Academy Robo-Rangers won 1st place and Mission Collegiate High School Knights won 3rd place. 

First and second place teams advance to the state competition, with third place winners retaining a chance for an invitation after all area competitions throughout the state are completed. Good luck to all teams!
