Veterans Memorial HS Toros de Plata to Compete at State UIL Mariachi Festival

January 26, 2017– The Veterans Memorial High School mariachis performed at the University Interscholastic League(UIL) Regional Contest. The contest rates on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is superior excellence in tone, technique, musicianship, and presentation. Both mariachis, the Junior Varsity Toros Azules and Varsity Toros de Plata received a Division 1 rating in all fields. The Varsity Toros de Plata advanced to the state competition for their second time; they will compete at the UIL State Mariachi Festival Pilot in San Antonio on March 11.
