K. White Junior High Showcases Extracurriculars for Incoming 6th Graders

Kenneth White Junior High School is making sure incoming students feel welcomed and aware of the many extracurricular activities available to provide them a rich educational experience. Fifth graders from O’Grady and Marcell Elementary Schools visited the campus this week to learn about the clubs, sports and fine arts programs they can join. K. White Principal Brenda Betancourt said they encourage all students to become involved in activities outside the classroom while maintaining good grades and good student behavior. The band, choir, cheerleaders, and dance team performed and athletes and UIL (University Interscholastic League) members spoke about why they love being a part of their team. UIL Coach Adrian Chapa told students it was okay if they’d never participated in these events before. “Come to K. White, join the team, and we’ll show you how to get to 1st place,” he said.
