Midkiff and Bryan Elementary Schools win “Books Come Alive” reading contest

The Mission CISD Library Services Department held its annual “Books Come Alive” reading contest for third graders February 1 through March 1. Congratulations to this year’s winners, Midkiff Elementary School and Bryan Elementary School.

The winners were determined by the highest word count average for third grade students enrolled at each campus. The two schools will enjoy a visit from the Gladys Porter Zoo community outreach program.

Midkiff Elementary School averaged 61,791 words read per student and Bryan Elementary School averaged 52,312 words read per student.

Congratulations to all Mission CISD third graders who participated in making “Books Come Alive!”
