Mission Options Academy Students Complete Structural Welding Program

Mission Options Academy had its first cohort to earn the McAllen Careers Institute certificate for Introduction to Structural Welding in March.  The campus held a celebration to highlight the accomplishments of the 10 graduating students, who can continue training for Pipefitting and other specialized welding courses.  Welding offers varied employment opportunities in industries throughout the county.

The students who completed the program were Michael Ayala, Luis Chavarria, Mercedes Eguia, Kassandra Lopez, Adrian Perez, Edgar Ramirez, Leopoldo Ramirez Reyes, Diego Rivera, Rodrigo Torres and Jesus Vasquez.

Director for Career and Technology Education (CTE) Sergio Pena, Counselor Norma Sanchez, and Academy Administrator Dr. Mary Aleman accompanied the students along with their family and friends. The career programs are part of Mission CISD’s commitment to preparing students for college, career, and life.
