VMHS precision machining students have successful competition season

            Mission, Texas- The Precision Machining program at Veterans Memorial High School (VMHS) continues a history of competitiveness. After a five-hour long competition, Andrew Vela finished third in the state SkillsUSA competition this past weekend. The marathon competition includes working with a lathe, milling, grinding, measuring, and blueprint reading operations.

            Vela advanced to the state competition after taking first place at the SkillsUSA district level.

            Fellow student, Ricardo Ochoa also advanced to the state competition after placing second at the district level.
