Two MHS Eagle T-STEM Academy Students Selected for UT-Austin Summer Engineering Camp

Two Mission High Eagle T-STEM (Texas-Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Academy engineering students were selected to attend The University of Texas at Austin’s My Introduction to Engineering (MITE) program this summer.  Juniors Alejandro Martinez and Alyssa Garza will spend six days participating in an engineering team project, hands-on activities and interacting with engineering students, faculty, staff and alumni.

MITE offers rising high school seniors the opportunity to visit the University of Texas at Austin, live on campus, and learn more about the field of engineering. Only 100 students from across the nation are accepted to attend this prestigious summer camp.

Alyssa and Alejandro, both aspiring aerospace engineers, learned about the program during a college visit this past November. Alyssa will attend the first session June 4-9 and Alejandro will attend the second session June 18-23.
