UT prize patrol surprises seniors during holiday break

Two Mission High School T-STEM Academy students got a surprise home visit by officials from the University of Texas-Austin the day after Thanksgiving. The visit resembled a well know “prize patrol” and only four students in the Rio Grande Valley were included.

Alyssa Garza and Alejandro Martinez were each offered full tuition scholarships by UT-Austin officials, and were presented with large “checks” and balloons as a part of the surprise visit. Each “check” indicates four years of tuition or the equivalent of $40,000.
