RCJH CyberCavs TESLA Team Headed to Regional State Competition

The Robotics CyberCavs TESLA Team competed on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Alton Memorial Jr. High in the FTC (First Tech Challenge) event vying for the chance to qualify for Regional State competition in Austin. Students on the TESLA Team competed against other RGV High Schools and Jr. Highs. The CyberCavs TESLA team came in 1st place in their division, 1st Place in the Semi-Finals, and 1st Place in the Finals to qualify them to head to Regional State competition in Austin.

Students, Manuel Salinas (8th), Pedro Rojas (8th), Salim Guizar-Servin (8th), Jorge Villasana (8th), Joel Quijada (8th), Kendrick Torres (8th), Gael Garcia (8th) have earned the opportunity to represent Rafael Cantu Jr. High’s CyberCavs TESLA robotics team at the Regional State Competition. Robotics Coaches that have overseen the Robotics program at RCJH are Catalina Gomez, Laura Alvarez, Daniel “Danny” Reyna, and Manuel “Marc” Villarreal.

 A special thank you to Dr. Roberts and her staff along with RCJH’s Administration for the ongoing support and encouragement to make the Robotics program a success.
