MHS DECA students Celebrate Accomplishments

Mission High School DECA has much to celebrate with their impressive year of many accomplishments. They had a total of 24 competitors attend the Texas DECA State Career Development Conference in Dallas, Texas on February 19 – 22, 2018. They also had Emily Barragan as a State Officer Candidate. MHS Century Chapter was recognized for having over 100 students and professional members combined and Javier Sanchez won $75 worth in gift cards at the conference. Gilberto Pena and Alejandra Lopez received an offer form an entrepreneur to mentor them as they start their business, and the Mrs. Balderas was selected as the Start Up Business Event Director.

MHS also has a total of ten students advancing to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia on April 2018. They are Rey Maldonado, Rogelio Cardenas, Ivan Pena, Abigail Amaya, Deyla Rodriguez, Javia Cerda, Jackie Martinez, Andres Lopez, Alek Garza and Alejandro Martinez. The Texas DECA is the largest DECA association in the world, impacting over 14,000 members across the great state of Texas.
