MCISD Jr. High Choirs Sing their Way to Division 1’s and Sweepstakes

Mission CISD Choir students and directors from our junior high schools did an outstanding job at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Competition last week at PSJA Southwest High School. The students represented their respective schools and the entire district with pride. Bringing home Sweepstakes and Division 1’s which was a testament to their hard work.

In visiting with some judges and directors from other districts, our choir department received positive feedback in general. Some of these groups are making history by winning Sweepstakes for the very first time ever.

The following Choirs received Sweepstakes: Alton Memorial Jr. High Varsity Treble Choir, Ralph Cantu Jr. High Bass Choir, Kenneth White Jr. High Tenor-Bass Choir, Alton Memorial Tenor-Bass Choir, and Kenneth White Jr. High JV Treble Choir.

The following Choirs received a Division I: Kenneth White Jr. High Varsity Treble Choir, Ralph Cantu Jr. High Varsity Treble Choir, and Mission Jr. High Varsity Treble Choir.

The fine arts department is extremely proud of the students along with the choir staff and would like to thank the administration for their support. Congratulations!
