The Mission Jr. High Honor, Symphonic and Concert Bands recently attended the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest at Veterans Memorial High School on March 6, 2018. Both the Honor and Symphonic Bands earned a Sweepstakes trophy by receiving Division 1 “Superior” ratings on both stage performance and sight reading portion of the contest.
This is the eighth consecutive Sweepstakes trophy for the Honor Band and the third consecutive Sweepstakes trophy for the Symphonic Band.
The Concert Band also received a Division 1 “Superior” rating for their stage performance for the first time ever. Students and staff invested countless hours preparing for this event.
The Mission Jr. High Band staff is extremely proud of all the Mission Jr. High band students and want to thank the administration, staff, and parents for their continued support.
