Mission, Texas- The Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees hosted its annual Mission Academic Excellence Awards Banquet March 22. This banquet and award honors the top five percent of the senior classes from Mission Collegiate High School, Mission High School, and Veterans Memorial High School. Each student is recognized individually by the members of the Board of Trustees.
In addition to honoring the top seniors, each student honoree invites an educator who has been important in their lives to honor as well.
The Mission Academic Excellence Award recipients from Mission Collegiate High School are: Chelsie Michelle Barrientos, Jahaira Gallardo Espinoza, Adriana Gonzalez, Harry Evan Siegel, Xitlaly E Villanueva.
The Mission Academic Excellence Award recipients from Mission High School are: Anyssa Nichole Aguilar, Julissa Arianna Alvarez, Maximo Briones Jr., Elizabeth Bustillos, Brayan Jesus Canchola, Victor Manuel Cano, Enrique Cantu, Ruben Arturo Cantu, Sebastian Carrillo, Natalie Deleon, Xavian Andres Flores, Jasmine Laney Gamino, Gabriela Garcia, Samantha Garcia, Alyssa Mireya Garza, Clarissa Janelle Garza, Alejandro Daniel Martinez, Perla Janette Perez, Maria Vanessa Pruneda, Kristian Gabriela Reyna, Candace Grace Rodriguez, Jose Guadalupe Salinas, Kenya Karina Salinas, Alyssa Sanchez.

The guest speaker for the event was Victoria Rojas. She is a 2008 Mission High School graduate and recipient of this award. Rojas is currently a teacher at Mission High School.
