Mission High School Boys Track team recently competed in a District Meet in McAllen. The Varsity Boys team finished in second place in team standings and the Junior Varsity team won the Team District Title. Mission Eagle Track had an impressive finish at the District Meet.
The following are varsity athletes that finished in the top four and qualified for the Area Meet are: District Champion in the Mile Relay, Long Jump and in the Triple Jump, 3rd Place in the 300m Hurdles – Sebastian Gonzalez. District Champion in the Mile Relay, 400m and 200m Alex Cordova.
2nd time District Champion in the Pole Vault – Miguel Frias, Mile Relay District Champions – Alex Cordova, Sebastian Gonzalez, Felix Perez, Jonathan Samaniego. In the 800 m Relay Runner-up – Sebastian Gonzalez, Michael Delva, Hector Flores, and Alex Lopez. The 800m Run Area Qualifier – Felix Perez, 3200m and 1600m run Area Qualifier – Marco Castro, Pole Vault runner up and Area Qualifier – Anthony Ramon , and Shot Put Area Qualifier – Zachary Clemons.
During Meet of Champions meet held on March 23rd and 24th the following are the results; 200m Champion – Alex Cordova, Mile Relay Champions – Alex Cordova, Sebastian Gonzalez, Jonathan Samaniego and Felix Perez and Long Jump Runner Up – Sebastian Gonzalez.
Also, the Mission Eagles Track team as of April 12, 2018 are on top of the Valley’s Best in Track and Field Mythical Standings. GO EAGLES!!!!!
