MHS FBLA Advances Two Members to the National Conference

The Mission High School Future Business Leaders of America sent 15 members to compete at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX on March 8 - 10, 2018 at the Dallas Hyatt Regency Hotel. The FBLA members advanced by placing at the FBLA Area IV Leadership Conference held at Mission High School.

 

The MHS FBLA members placing at Area and advancing to State were:  Juan Reyna – 2nd – Computer Problem Solving, Oscar Ybarra – 1st – Cyber Security, Juan Rodriguez -3rd – Accounting II, Roberto Ramirez – 3rd – Business Calculations, Ashmin Torres – 1st – Database Design and Application, Aaron Relko – 2nd – Business Calculations, Jensen Rosales – 2nd – Business Communications, Ruben Cantu – 1st – Accounting II, Jizzel Maldonado – 3rd – Business Communications, Yasmin Castillo – 7th – Health Care Administration, Neftaly Rivera – 1st – Introduction to Business Communication, Luis Muñoz – 2nd – Introduction to Financial Math, Leslie C. Rivera – 3rd – Introduction to Financial Math, Rochelle Saenz – 4th – Journalism, Kenya Salinas – 2nd – Word Processing.

 

At the FBLA State Leadership Conference, Mission High School FBLA was recognized for contributing to the March of Dimes and to the FBLA Endowment Fund of $1 per member every year since its inception in the 1990’s.  Leslie C. Rivera was recognized as a Texas FBLA Who’s Who Member. Mr. O’cana, Mission High School Adviser, was recognized for his 38 years of service to the FBLA organization.

 

Advancing as National Qualifiers are Kenya Salinas who placed 4th in Word Processing and Juan Reyna who placed 3rd in Computer Problem Solving.  Kenya and Juan will compete June 26 – July 2, 2017 at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, MD.  Waiting in the wings placing 5th as alternates were Ashmin Torres in Database Design and Application and Ruben Cantu in Accounting II.
