The Captain Joaquin Castro Elementary Music class under the direction of Mr. Joel Plata presented a special program filled with music in celebration of Mother’s Day. Two students read moving and inspirational poems in English and in Spanish that set the stage for the Castro All-Star Choir that dedicated two uplifting songs that put a smile and tears of joy on the Mom’s faces.
A first-time performance featuring the Castro All-Star Guitar Ensemble played a classical piece to showcase their guitar-playing skills. The Rhythmic Raider Dance team under the direction of Mrs. Viviana Garibay and her Assistant Ms. Elizabeth V. Huerta entertained the audience with their vibrant and colorful costumes and a contagious, rhythmic dance selection that left the audience in awe.
A climatic performance by the Veteran’s Memorial High School Mariachi Toros de Plata ended the program with a grand finale of a medley of songs that let the audience, especially the Moms know, how special they are.
