VMHS students get a first-hand look at Windsor Mold Group

Veterans Memorial High School Manufacturing students took a tour of the Windsor Mold Group on Thursday, May 17, 2018. They had the opportunity to see first-hand how molds are designed and repaired from various companies such as General Motors, Ford, Dodge, Black and Decker, and others.

Students were given the opportunity to go spend some time with machine operators to ask questions and see machines running. Windsor Mold Group offered to send one of their technicians to our campus to help with trainings, and they also mentioned the great need of trained personnel for this field. Three of last year’s graduates are working in Windsor Mold and they are Mario Balderas MHS, Raul Vanegas MHS and Joseph Cardenas VMHS.

“Managers are happy with our students and would like to continue hiring from our program,” stated Rene Pena, Manufacturing Instructor.
