MHS track runner signs with Central Methodist University

Mission, Texas- Central Methodist feels like they caught the biggest fish of all times, they believe that they are singing one of the best runners in the Rio Grande Valley. Mission High School’s Alex Cordova has set all kinds of records and was even was a State Qualifier. He accepted to sign with Central Methodist on a track scholarship.

 

“We feel very good about Alex joining the track team, he is the missing part of the puzzle to our team,” said Ben Lopez, CMU Regional Counselor/Admissions. “We only wish him the very best in this next part of his journey, what’s good is that he will go from being a Mission Eagle to the nest of a CMU Eagle.”

 

MCISD Athletic Director Leticia Ibarra offered words of inspiration for Alex on his new journey. She stated that he must always remember the three H’s which are to stay healthy, be hungry, and remain humble. His coaches also provided Alex with impactful advice as he starts this new endeavor.  

 

The university expects great things from Cordova and he is well aware of the expectations. He looks forward to the limitless opportunities this university can provide. Central Methodist University is located in Fayette, Missouri and they participate in the NAIA Division II in the Hearth of American Athletic Conference.
