Mission CISD volunteers prepare for the Back-to-School Bash

Volunteers gathered today at the Bryan Elementary cafeteria to help stuff backpacks with some of the school supplies needed to start the year in preparation for the Back-to-School Bash. Over a hundred volunteers came out to help for this event from various organizations, community businesses, and district personnel.

“Our volunteers coming together for this event is a true example of the best part of the Back-to-School Bash,” states Craig Verley, MCISD Public Relations Director. “Having our students work side by side with community members to support our district is really great to see.”

A total of 2,000 backpacks were stuffed and prepared for the annual Back-to-School Bash slated for Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Veterans Memorial High School gymnasium from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. It is also a one stop back to school event will also offer free student haircuts by our cosmetology students, free eye screenings by the Lions Club, an immunization clinic, sport physicals for $20, late online registration, student performances and more!

We would like to thank all the volunteers that came to help at this event and all the community sponsors that provided school supplies and backpacks. We look forward to our continuous collaboration in the future.
