VMHS Patriot Stars perform with the World-Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes!

The Veterans Memorial Patriot Stars' officers traveled to Kilgore, Tx. for the experience of a lifetime! The Stars officers had the opportunity to learn from and about the Rangerettes as well as perform with them during half time on September 8, 2018.

The Kilgore College Rangerettes made their debut in 1940 making them the very first drill team to be established. They are the world's best-known collegiate drill team, traveling from coast-to-coast and border-to-border in the United States and on several world tours.

During their time at Kilgore, the Stars' officers got to learn from the Rangerettes Asst. Director, Shelley Wayne, during a master class and perform with the Rangerettes during halftime among other dancers from all over Texas. They were able to meet the original " K girl", Jackie Johnson, and learn about her story as a Rangerette and the one behind the logo created in her image.

The Stars are coming back from their best season in program history and after this tremendous experience they are more than ready to make this year and even more successful one.
