Pearson Elementary hosts first Family Reading Event this school year

Pearson Elementary invited parents to the campus library to participate in a Family Reading Event on Friday, September 28, 2018. Mr. Eleazar Casanova, Librarian, had a short meeting before the students were brought in to have the parents read to them.

Students were ecstatic to see their parents as they quickly chose a book of their liking to start their reading adventure. When students finished reading their books they had an opportunity to take an accelerated reader test if they chose to take one.

The purpose of the event is to get everyone excited about reading and to have family members sit down with their children and read together for enjoyment. The event was such a success, with so many parents in attendance, that the campus had to use an additional room to accommodate everyone for this event.
