MCISD Vocational Training Program students in commercial with Ka-Buy-O

The Department for Special Education was delighted to announce that a few students in the district’s 18 Plus Vocational Training Program were invited to be in a commercial for Foy’s Supermarket which was filmed on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

Foy’s Supermarket is one of the district’s Partners in Education that provide their store as a job site for our students that are part of the vocational training for employment and career readiness. The store has recently hired one of the students, Ashley De la Rosa, and she has been employed at the store.

“I was excited to be in the commercial because I work here at Foy’s,” said Ashley. “I have been in the program for two years but have been working at Foy’s Supermarket since the summer.”

Ashley along with some of her classmates were all part of the commercial that will air real soon. They had the opportunity to take part in this project along with Ka-Buy-O the official store mascot. Congratulations to Ashley De la Rosa, Adrian Rodriguez, Sebastian Llamas, and Vianey Campos for being selected for this commercial.
