Two out of three Region One ESC holiday art contest winners come from Mission CISD

Mission, Texas- As the Region One Education Service Center (ESC) works on sending out their official cards for the holiday season, two out of the three will show the talents of students from Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD). After pouring through hundreds of entries, the Region One ESC selected the winners of their annual holiday art contest. The winning entries become the artwork on the “official” Region One ESC holiday card sent out to area superintendents, school districts, and statewide education agencies. A winner was selected by a panel of judges in the elementary, middle school, and high school divisions.

Savannah Reynolds, a second grade student a Bryan Elementary School won the elementary division with her artwork that included a Texas boot and a cactus. The high school division was won by Victor Esparza, a sophomore at Mission High School, whose artwork included a guitar, cowboy hat, and tamales.

Art contest guidelines stipulated the artwork reflect the holiday season in the South Texas area. Winners will receive a set of holidays cards with their design to share with friends and family, plus a prize package of art supplies.
