Mission, Texas- All Mission Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) elementary schools are preparing to welcome new students for this fall’s PreK-3 and PreK-4 programs. A special Round Up drive for the 2023-2024 school year will be held on March 6-10. On these five days, district elementary schools will have staff available to answer phone calls from parents interested in learning more. Parents can also go to their nearest Mission CISD elementary school for help with the online registration process. The hours for the PreK Round Up help on March 6-10, will be 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. All registration will be online by accessing the district website, www.mcisd.net/Register.
The Mission CISD PreK programs offer two-way dual-language instruction that can continue with the student through fifth grade, with teachers who meet standard for highly qualified designations. These teachers offer individualized instruction through a research-based curriculum in partnership with Fueling Brains that is truly changing the face of early education in the RGV.
Mission CISD elementary schools offer a full-day PreK-4 program with no language or income requirements. Students to be registered for the PreK-4 program must turn four years of age prior to September 1, 2023. Items that will need to be uploaded during the online registration process or made available to the campus to complete registration are: valid identification for the parent, the child’s birth certificate, child’s social security card if available, and child’s immunization records.
The district’s PreK-3 program is also a full-day program. Students for PreK-3 must be at least three years of age on September 1, 2023.
Out-of-district transfers for the PreK-3 and PreK-4 programs will only be accepted if the child has siblings already attending a Mission CISD school.
