The Testing and Evaluation Department provides statistical data to each campus and district executive staff. This data is designed to facilitate the decision-making process and increase the educational success of all students while emphasizing our special populations.
Our primary focus is to implement systems and processes that support our Mission CISD Leadership Goals and Instructional Framework.
Local Assessment
Our goal for the local assessments is to provide reliable data in a timely manner which will enable teachers to obtain student information that highlights instructional improvements and student learning. Working with the Testing Department at each campus, the Instruction and Assessment Strategist (IAS) supervise the distribution, training, scoring and data reporting of local assessments aligned to the Mission CISD curriculum.
State Assessment
The Testing and Evaluation Department provides state assessment trainings to district staff on maintaining test security and confidentiality. Furthermore, the department provides guidelines based on the calendar of events for each state test administration. The state tests include:
- State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR)
- Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS)
- STAAR-ALT 2
- TELPAS ALT
