Visual Arts Programs

Empowering Creativity, Celebrating Culture, Inspiring Excellence

The Mission Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) Visual Arts program is dedicated to fostering creativity, cultural appreciation, and academic excellence among students. Through a comprehensive curriculum and diverse artistic opportunities, we aim to cultivate the next generation of artists, thinkers, and community leaders.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide students with opportunities to flourish as artists and create meaningful connections with our community. We will empower and enrich the development of the visual and performing arts by instilling a sense of culture, pride, higher-level thinking, and lifelong learning.

Our Vision

We strive to prepare and inspire students through creative exploration, interdisciplinary education, community engagement, and cultural diversity to successfully pursue higher learning in an ever-changing world.

Program Highlights

  • Comprehensive Curriculum: Our visual arts curriculum spans from elementary through high school, offering courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media, and more. Students engage in hands-on projects that enhance their technical skills and artistic expression.

  • Extracurricular Opportunities: Students are encouraged to participate in various art clubs, competitions, and exhibitions, including the VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event), Celebrating Art publication, and regional art contests.

  • Community Engagement: We believe in the power of art to connect and inspire. Our students' works are showcased in local galleries, community events, and district-wide exhibitions, fostering a strong bond between schools and the community.

  • Professional Development: Our educators are committed to continuous growth, participating in staff development programs to stay abreast of the latest teaching methodologies and artistic trends.
